Safer Internet Day is observed on 6 February every year. This is an EU-wide initiative that aims to raise awareness about using the internet safely for everyone including people from every age age group and gender.

Proper awareness programs are organized to teach people how to use the internet safely. This year i.e. 2024 marks the 20th edition of Safer Internet Day. It was a part of the EU SafeBorders project in 2004 but later it transferred into a dedicated day. Now, the day is observed by almost 200 countries and territories in the world. 

It is important to learn about the emerging trends on the internet as well as its concerns and safety measures. To celebrate the day, the first and foremost thing is to understand cyberbullying. People nowadays use the internet as a tool to bully anyone they dislike or do not live up to their desired expectations. So, it is crucial to know how online safety measures can be used to avoid negativity. 

Additionally, parents also must partake in regular conversations with their kids about internet usage and its negative impact on their mental health. Although the internet is a powerful tool it has its disadvantages and risks.
